In our FAQ section, you’ll find detailed answers about bathroom, kitchen, and laundry renovations — from costs and timelines to warranties and design options. If you have any other questions, our team is always happy to help.
Most standard bathroom renovations range from $19,300 – $35,000, depending on several key factors:
Size of the bathroom:
Small bathrooms and ensuites are usually at the lower end of the range, as they require fewer tiles, fixtures, and labour hours.
Larger family bathrooms or luxury spaces fall toward the higher end because of increased materials, plumbing, and finishing requirements.
Tile and fixture selections:
Entry-level tiles and standard fixtures keep costs lower.
Premium inclusions such as large-format tiles, stone benchtops, frameless shower screens, and designer tapware increase the investment.
Package level:
Bronze Package ($19,300–$23,000): Practical and affordable, ideal for investors or budget-conscious homeowners wanting a modern refresh.
Silver Package ($23,000–$28,500): Mid-range choice, with upgraded tiles, custom cabinetry, and higher-end finishes for long-lasting value.
Platinum Package ($28,500–$35,000): Premium inclusions such as luxury fittings, feature tiling, freestanding baths, and underfloor heating — perfect for a designer look.
BYO Package (variable): You supply your own PC items (toilet, vanity, tapware), and we handle the full build. This gives flexibility for clients who want specific fixtures they’ve already purchased.
Site conditions:
Older homes may need upgrades to plumbing, drainage, or electrical systems, which can add to costs.
Accessibility features (hobless showers, grab rails, slip-rated flooring) may also influence the budget.
On average, a full bathroom renovation takes 3–4 weeks from demolition to handover. This timeframe includes everything from the initial strip-out to the final fit-off and clean.
Here’s what typically happens during that period:
Demolition & Site Preparation (2–4 days)
Removal of old tiles, fixtures, and fittings.
Site protection (dust control, floor coverings) to keep your home clean.
Disposal of waste materials.
Plumbing & Electrical Rough-In (3–5 days)
Licensed trades update or relocate pipes, drains, and wiring.
Preparation for new layouts, vanities, lighting, and outlets.
Wall & Floor Sheeting + Waterproofing (4–6 days)
Installation of new wall and floor sheeting (e.g., Villaboard).
Application of waterproof membranes in compliance with AS 3740.
Waterproofing requires 24–48 hours curing time.
Tiling & Grouting (5–7 days)
Floor-to-ceiling tiling, niches, and feature walls.
Drying/curing period before grout and sealant application.
Fixture & Fitting Installation (2–4 days)
Installation of vanities, toilets, baths, shower screens, mirrors, tapware, and accessories.
Painting, trims, and finishing details.
Final Inspection & Handover (1 day)
Full site clean.
Waterproofing certificate and warranty issued.
Walk-through inspection with the client.
Waterproofing Warranty:
Every bathroom we build includes a minimum 5-year waterproofing warranty, covering all membranes and wet-area sealing.
Our Silver and Platinum packages go further, providing a 7-year waterproofing warranty in line with Australian Standard AS 3740 – Waterproofing of Domestic Wet Areas.
Waterproofing is carried out by licensed applicators, and you will receive a waterproofing certificate at handover.
In most cases, a standard bathroom renovation does not require council approval. If you are simply updating tiles, fixtures, vanities, showers, or baths without altering the existing layout, the work falls under cosmetic renovation and can usually proceed without additional approvals.
However, council or private certifier approval may be required if your renovation involves:
Structural changes – such as removing or altering load-bearing walls, cutting new windows, or changing the footprint of the room.
Plumbing and drainage modifications – relocating toilets, floor wastes, or sewer connections often triggers additional compliance checks.
Electrical rewiring – major electrical changes may need to be signed off by a licensed electrician and, in some cases, inspected.
Accessibility or extensions – if you are expanding the bathroom, converting an unused space (like part of a garage), or installing compliant accessible facilities (in line with AS1428), approvals may be needed.
Heritage-listed or strata properties – bathrooms in heritage homes or apartment complexes often require approval from council, strata committees, or body corporates.
During the quoting stage, we’ll review your existing bathroom, proposed design, and site conditions.
If approvals are required, we can guide you through the process and, where necessary, liaise with certifiers, engineers, or local councils.
We ensure all works comply with the National Construction Code (NCC) and local council requirements so that your renovation is legally sound and fully insured.
