On average, a full bathroom renovation takes 3–4 weeks from demolition to handover. This timeframe includes everything from the initial strip-out to the final fit-off and clean.

Here’s what typically happens during that period:

1. Demolition & Site Preparation (2–4 days)

   • Removal of old tiles, fixtures, and fittings.
   • Site protection (dust control, floor coverings) to keep your home clean.
   • Disposal of waste materials.

2. Plumbing & Electrical Rough-In (3–5 days)

   • Licensed trades update or relocate pipes, drains, and wiring.
   • Preparation for new layouts, vanities, lighting, and outlets.

3. Wall & Floor Sheeting + Waterproofing (4–6 days)

   • Installation of new wall and floor sheeting (e.g., Villaboard).
   • Application of waterproof membranes in compliance with AS 3740.
   • Waterproofing requires 24–48 hours curing time.

4. Tiling & Grouting (5–7 days)

   • Floor-to-ceiling tiling, niches, and feature walls.
   • Drying/curing period before grout and sealant application.

5. Fixture & Fitting Installation (2–4 days)

   • Installation of vanities, toilets, baths, shower screens, mirrors, tapware, and accessories.
   • Painting, trims, and finishing details.

6. Final Inspection & Handover (1 day)

   • Full site clean.
   • Waterproofing certificate and warranty issued.
   • Walk-through inspection with the client.

Waterproofing Warranty

• Every bathroom we build includes a minimum 5-year waterproofing warranty, covering all membranes and wet-area sealing.
• Our Silver and Platinum packages go further, providing a 7-year waterproofing warranty in line with Australian Standard AS 3740 – Waterproofing of Domestic Wet Areas.
• Waterproofing is carried out by licensed applicators, and you will receive a waterproofing certificate at handover.

In most cases, a standard bathroom renovation does not require council approval. If you are simply updating tiles, fixtures, vanities, showers, or baths without altering the existing layout, the work falls under cosmetic renovation and can usually proceed without additional approvals.

However, council or private certifier approval may be required if your renovation involves:

• Structural changes – such as removing or altering load-bearing walls, cutting new windows, or changing the footprint of the room.
• Plumbing and drainage modifications – relocating toilets, floor wastes, or sewer connections often triggers additional compliance checks.
• Electrical rewiring – major electrical changes may need to be signed off by a licensed electrician and, in some cases, inspected.
• Accessibility or extensions – if you are expanding the bathroom, converting an unused space (like part of a garage), or installing compliant accessible facilities (in line with AS1428), approvals may be needed.
• Heritage-listed or strata properties – bathrooms in heritage homes or apartment complexes often require approval from council, strata committees, or body corporates.

Builder’s Licence

All renovation works are carried out under a current builder’s licence, ensuring our projects meet the
requirements of the NSW Fair Trading Home Building Act 1989 and equivalent Tasmanian legislation.
This means we’re legally authorised to perform bathroom, kitchen, and laundry renovations, including
waterproofing, plumbing coordination, and structural works.

Insurance Coverage

• Home Building Compensation Fund (HBCF) Insurance (NSW projects over $20,000) to safeguard
